Stone Hockey Club have recently invested in a brand new Astroturf pitch and are now looking to add pitch side shelters for players and officials.
Stone Hockey Club is utilised by five men’s, and three ladies hockey teams and the shelters will finish off the playing facilities.
Lee Edgington from the hockey club told A Little Bit of Stone:
“For many years we have forced our players and spectators to endure the elements without shelters. So we thought we would try and do something about this situation!
“The plans involve the building of a dedicated set of shelters for both Home and Away players as well as umpires on the far side of the pitch thus meeting the league requirements to segregate the players and the spectators on seperate sides of the pitch.
“We are hoping to raise the funds required to buy the materials we need to build the structure, any support or donation you give is greatly appreciated as we continue to develop our club and make it a better facility for players, members and the local community.”
