It’s Gold again for Stone in Bloom! At the award ceremony this morning at the New Vic Theatre in Newcastle, the entry from Stone in Bloom was awarded a Gold Award for the third year in succession – and Stonefield Park was awarded a special merit award in the category awards.
Stone in Bloom is a wholly voluntary group which was formed when Stafford Borough Council withdrew funding and officer support three years ago. Former Chairman Richard Stevens said: “It had been a great honour to have chaired the new Stone in Bloom for its first three years when we won Gold each time. It is due entirely to the hard work of volunteers and the hard work of local groups.
“And I must congratulate Streetscene upon their award for Stonefield Park which looked fantastic this year. I wish the new Chairman Antony Lucas the very best of luck and look forward to Stone in Bloom going from strength to strength.”
