To commemorate her one-year anniversary in Stone High Street, Tracy Stant of ladies’ boutique Josie wanted to commission a bespoke image of her shop to display inside.
Tracy turned to well-known Stone artist Emma Joustra who specialises in creating the type of images that Tracy had in mind.
Tracy and Emma worked together to refine the concept of the piece, and then Emma set out on her creative process to transform Tracy’s idea into a digital drawing.
Once the work was complete Stone based framing and photography business Vantage Point Creative, who already work closely with Emma, framed the artwork after Tracy popped across the High Street to select a frame.
Customers and visitors can now see the image proudly hung within Josie.
Tracy told A Little Bit of Stone:
“Since opening Josie 12 months ago I’ve wanted a piece of art behind the counter. After much consideration we decided a bespoke piece of the shop itself, together with the family was a great idea.
Emma’s work is well know in Stone and I was delighted when she agreed to do the piece, which even has our cat, Domino in it!
The whole process was simple and I’d like to thank Emma and Adam for their professional and speedy turnaround. I’m absolutely delighted with it and can’t wait for the winter scene edition to follow!”
Of the project Emma said:
“It was a real pleasure to work with Tracy Stant. ‘Josie’ always catches my eye with their beautiful window displays, and it was great to include the Stant family in the picture, with Tracy’s assistant Kate, regular customers and really specific details such as the model French bulldogs in the window.
“Adam as ever, made a beautiful bespoke frame which looks fabulous against the deep red wall in the shop. As I work from home, it’s great to have Vantage Point Creative in town, as my customers are now able to order from me and collect from Adam at their convenience.”
Finally, Adam added:
“We were delighted to frame the image, especially with the connections surrounding it. It just proves business to business can work locally.
Tracy picked a thick black frame which compliments the image aswell as supporting the image size. It was finished off with Emma’s trade mark mount board surrounding it, giving the image depth and an extra touch of elegance.”
