When you’re a fish who has outgrown your existing pond, it’s time to get a new pond, and that’s precisely what Fishtopia have done with their relocation from Eccleshall to Stone.
We caught up with the mother and daughter, Michelle and Jordan Warner, to hear about their exciting new plans ahead of their opening this Friday, 17th June.
Michelle told A Little Bit of Stone about where the idea about Fishtopia came from:
“I have always had a keen interest in fish and have been keeping them all my life. In the past ten years this has also taken me into the breeding side of the hobby.
It was a childhood dream to have my own aquatic shop and as my daughter grew older and took an interest in fish keeping we would often talk about having our own shop too.
In 2020 we took the plunge and opened Fishtopia during lockdown in our local town of Eccleshall. We took a small unit in the Eccleshall arcade, located off the High Street, and that was the start of our dream becoming a reality!”
Michelle went on to tell us about the move from Eccleshall to Stone:
“Our last store was a big success; however, we quickly ran out of room for our expanding range and ideas!
With that, we went on the hunt for a new location. Being from Stone originally, and spending the first half of my life living in Stone, it became my first choice for the new location. We soon found our new location and secured the lease and excited to start the next chapter of our business.”
We were wondering what the new store would feature, the frontage giving nothing away, Michelle explained
“We stock everything needed to set up an aquarium. We have a wide range of tropical and cold-water fish and a huge range of rocks, woods and decors.
We aim to offer the best information and advice and we always have time for a chat if a customer is having problems.
As we progress here in our new store, we plan to expand more with the pond and cold water range so pop in regularly to keep up to date!”
Fishtopia hopes to bring something new and exciting to Stone and will be opening on Friday 17th June.
Location-wise, you can find Fishtopia at 4 Radford Street, just by the pedestrian crossing – you can’t miss their distinctive black and neon shop frontage!
