Stone Old Alleynians made club history with their FA cup win over Anstey Nomads at the weekend, they now progress to the next round.
Stone’s most competitive team was formed in 1962, made up of ex-pupils of Alleyne’s. At the weekend, the team travelled to Anstey Nomads for their first-ever match at this stage of the competition and came away with the spoils, securing a 1-0 win thanks to Jack Tomlinson’s early goal in the 15th minute of the match.
Brilliant defending and goalkeeping kept Anstey Nomads out, and now the team will face Leamington in round two on the 18th of September.
As well as securing the historic win, the club also collected £2,250 for their club coffers – well done to everyone involved in the club and best of luck in the next round!
