Megan’s update reads:

“Good evening,

A further Dispersal Order is in place in Stone Town over the weekend and additional officers have been on patrol.

Today I have been on cycle patrol around Stone and the mobile police station has also been present at the canoe club carpark.

Over the next six weeks, the mobile police station will be deployed at multiple locations across the area of Stone, if there is a certain area you would like us to take it to, please reply to this smart alert. I will ensure that the date and times are advertised so residents have the opportunity to meet us.

From speaking to members of the public at the skate park today, the general feedback was that there has been a reduction in anti-social behaviour at the park which is good to hear.

A number of children have received acceptable behaviour contracts whereby police have set conditions that they are expected to abide by, parents have been issued with community protection notice warnings and children have also been dispersed from stone town when causing anti-social behaviour. We will continue to take positive action where possible. “

  • Drug dealing throughout the centre of town. Saw an open transaction AGAIN yesterday at 6.30pm

  • The congregating of youths by B&M and the adjoining alleyway is a hotspot for ASB. I’ve personally witnessed a young male threaten someone he was going to stab them as he was running off somewhere! A very intimidating environment on occasions.

I share the thoughts of bikes and scooters racing down the high st., a statistic waiting to happen! Sadly it can be adults too though and cars/vans can travel too fast in my opinion.

The back of Boots (when the store is closed) appears to be attracting gangs of teenagers , messing about and running across the one way system in front of cars

Please speak to the kids speeding along pavements and down the High St on bikes or scooters. This is an accident waiting to happen. Obviously more of a problem at the end of the school day, so maybe one for September.
