Today is National Poetry Day, so it’s lovely to be able to share some poems from Stone’s June Palmer.

June’s book of poetry ‘The Last Pictish Man’ was published this summer by City Voices Publishing. The collection is an eclectic, personal bag and one one of the poems – Out Of January – won a competition in Stoke-on-Trent. You can pick up a copy at the Cats Protection shop in Stone High Street – 50p from each sale goes to the charity.
June also had two poems accepted for the Poetry of Staffordshire anthology (published by Offa’s Press) which is being launched on 21st October at Hanley Library, and was also the winner of a competition judged by Middleport Pottery – the theme being the old Potteries.
