Primary school children and their teachers from Stone are gearing up to perform in one of the region’s biggest singing events.
The Sing Up! Celebration Concert on Monday 31st January will see 14 music services from across the West Midlands work together on a whole day’s worth of musical celebration at Symphony Hall in Birmingham.
Four thousand children will celebrate the joy of singing together, many of them from Staffordshire primary, middle and high schools, including St Michael’s First School and Christchurch Middle School from Stone.
The Federation of Music Services West Midlands which has Nigel Taylor, Head of Staffordshire Performing Arts (SPA) as its chair and Jenny Mason, Deputy of SPA, as the West Midlands area Sing Up leader, has organised the event.
Over 400 teachers and support staff will be joining in the celebration, which will start with workshops led by guests Sue Hollingworth and David Lawrence, and have guest performances including Staffordshire’s very own Boyz Noyz. The day culminates in an evening concert presented by Michael Collie from the BBC’s Midlands Today news programme.
