Get ready, as the town’s annual Christmas Lights Switch-On, hosted by Stone Town Council, is set for Thursday, 23rd November.
The festive season in Stone is about to kick off with the annual Christmas Lights Switch-On event. Organised by Stone Town Council, this year’s celebration, happening on Thursday, 23rd November, promises a fun-filled evening for everyone in the town.
Entertainment for the Whole Family
Starting at 5 pm, the evening will be hosted by Kath Stanway. The line-up features local talents, beginning with a performance from Prestige Performance Academy at 5.30 pm. The Stone combined schools choir will then bring their voices to the stage at 6 pm, followed by the Stone Revellers at 6.30 pm.
Lighting Up Stone
The big moment of the night happens at 7 pm when the Christmas lights go on. Town Mayor, Councillor Jim Davies, and Father Christmas will do the honours, accompanied by the winners of the Mayor’s Christmas Card competition.
More Than Lights
But there’s more than just the lights. Warwick’s Funfair will be set up in the Market Square and along the High Street. Plus, there will be plenty of food, trade, and charity stalls offering lots to see, eat, and buy.
A Word from the Council
Councillor Jill Hood, who chairs the Council’s Tourism and Town Promotion Sub-Committee, shared her excitement:
“I always look forward to this event, when the High Street is lit up with Christmas trees and the school choirs sing to the town.
“We will again be putting on a fantastic show, with a full programme of entertainment and even Santa himself putting in an appearance. This is a hugely popular event for all age groups, and I hope you will join us on the evening to welcome the Christmas season to Stone.”
A Night for Stone to Shine
The Christmas Lights Switch-On is a chance for everyone in Stone to come together and start the festive season. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, join in on 23rd November for an evening of community spirit and festive fun.
