People in Stone and across Staffordshire are being encouraged to recognise the incredible work of foster carers, special guardians, and supported lodgings hosts by nominating them for the Staffordshire Fostering Star Awards 2025.
Now in their second year, the awards celebrate local individuals who dedicate their time to caring for vulnerable children and young people.
Award Categories
The awards, open to those who work with Staffordshire County Council, include seven categories this year:
Rising Star
Inspirational Foster Carer
Inspirational Special Guardian
Making a Difference in the Fostering Community
Making a Difference in the Special Guardian Community
Making a Difference in the Supported Lodgings Community
Above and Beyond Award
A celebration of care
Last year’s double award winner, foster carer Alan Hudson, shared his thoughts on receiving the recognition:
“Last year I was really humbled and shocked to win not one but two awards.
“I’m really proud to be part of Staffordshire’s foster care community, and if I can make a difference to local children and their future, that in itself is reward enough for me.”

“Our Fostering Star Awards give us a great opportunity to celebrate and thank the carers who do a wonderful job, always going that extra mile for the children they look after.
“The awards were a huge success last year, and we want to build on that this year. So if you know a brilliant carer, please get them nominated.”
How to nominate
This year’s awards run alongside a major recruitment campaign for foster carers as part of National Foster Care Fortnight.
Nominations are open now and can be submitted online. The closing date is Friday, 21st March 2025.
