Local theatre company Stone Revellers is set to make history by bringing “The Band ” – The Take That Musical to the stage at the Crown Wharf Theatre in April 2025.
This production, it is believed, marks the first time the musical will be performed by a group outside of the original production company, making it a milestone moment for both the theatre and the company. Crown Wharf Theatre, which opens its doors this November, is thrilled to be hosting this major production so soon after its launch.
Based on the iconic music of Take That, The Band tells the heartfelt story of five women who, as teenagers, bonded over their love for a boy band they used to watch religiously on “Top of the Pops.” Fast forward 20 years, and the women reunite for a special anniversary concert, reigniting their shared memories and friendships, all set to the unforgettable soundtrack of Take That’s greatest hits.
Written by Tim Firth, the creator behind the hit musical Calendar Girls, The Band combines nostalgia, friendship, and the power of music to create a show that resonates with audiences of all ages. With beloved songs like “Back for Good,” “Never Forget,” and “Relight My Fire,” the production promises to take audiences on a musical journey through time, celebrating the (could it be?) magic of Take That.
Featuring a full live band and 100% live performances, this is a production that fans of the group, theatre lovers, and anyone who grew up in the 90s won’t want to miss. Given the excitement surrounding both the show and the new theatre, tickets are expected to sell fast. Tickets go on sale December 1st, priced at just £18.50 for Adults and £16.50 for concessions with no booking fees, and are anticipated to be in high demand.
