Stone social media business picked as Theo Paphitis small business winner

A Stone business has been named one of the latest winners in Theo Paphitis’ Small Business Sunday initiative.

SBS Winner Badge

Shaw Socials, run by Katie Shaw, was selected last week after entering the weekly scheme, which highlights small businesses from across the UK.

A boost for a Stone business

Katie Shaw, who runs Shaw Socials from Stone, entered Theo Paphitis’ #SBS initiative on social media and was picked as one of six weekly winners.

The scheme was launched in 2010 and has built up thousands of winners over the years, with businesses chosen each week receiving a repost from the former Dragons’ Den panellist and retail entrepreneur.

For a small business in Stone, that kind of exposure can make a noticeable difference quite quickly.

According to the information shared with ALBOS, the repost brought Shaw Socials extra followers and new orders for its services, which include online social media masterclasses, one to one training and done for you content support.

The business has also been added to the #SBS winners website, which features past and present winners from across the country.

What Shaw Socials does

Shaw Socials supports small businesses with their social media, focusing on helping people show up online in a way that feels natural and consistent with their brand.

That can mean training, content support, or helping business owners who simply do not have the time to keep on top of everything themselves.

For many smaller firms, particularly independents, social media is one of the main ways they stay visible. That makes recognition like this useful, not just as a badge, but as something that can bring in fresh interest and paying customers.

Katie Shaw said:

“Winning #SBS is such an incredible moment for my business.

“Shaw Socials is all about helping other small businesses show up confidently and true to them on social media, so to have that recognised by Theo Paphitis is amazing.

“The exposure has already made a difference and I’m so excited for what’s next.”

Part of a long-running national scheme

Theo Paphitis’ Small Business Sunday, often shortened to #SBS, invites business owners to post about their work on Sunday evenings using the hashtag.

Winners are then chosen and reshared the following day.

In a statement shared as part of the announcement, Theo Paphitis said:

“We are thrilled to welcome new #SBS members every week and highlight just how important it is to support our small businesses here in the UK.

“My vision is that everyone who has ever won an #SBS re-tweet from me becomes part of a friendly club, like-minded individuals who can share successes and learnings.

“The website will also give a valuable profile to the winners chosen and I wish Shaw Socials every success.”

For Shaw Socials, it is a national nod for a business based here in Stone, and one that appears to have brought an early lift in attention as well as new work.
