Visitors to Stone Station are invited to a special community open day on Wednesday, 2nd July to celebrate the past, present and future of local rail travel.
Running from 10am to 1pm, the drop-in event promises a mix of history, fun and conversation, giving residents the chance to discover more about ongoing station projects and meet the dedicated volunteers who help keep the station blooming and welcoming all year round.
As part of the national Railway 200 celebrations – marking 200 years since the birth of public railways – the event will feature:
- A railway-themed quiz
- Displays on the station’s history
- Refreshments available from 10am to 12pm
- Stalls from partners including the Bumblebee Conservation Trust and Stone Heritage Centre
The open day is being supported by London Northwestern Railway and the North Staffordshire Community Rail Partnership.
Whether you’re a train buff, a local history fan or just fancy a cuppa and a chat, everyone is welcome to pop along.
