Stone town centre will be transformed into a giant Advent calendar again this December as the Stone Advent Windows project returns for a fourth year.
After the success of the last three years – including a special commendation in the Social and Community section of the 2012 Market Towns Awards – this year’s event will see a record 19 schools and organisations working with shops and businesses in and around the town, many of whom are already busily at work on their displays.
The theme of the windows will once again be Christmas carols and there will be a joyful rendition of the carol depicted at each opening. Windows will be unveiled at 11am each day, with Costa on the High Street hosting the first in partnership with the Beaver Scouts on Sunday December 1st. The final window will be unveiled at Christ Church on December 24th after which warm drinks and mince pies will be served in Christ Church Centre.
The full calendar is in the process of being finalised and will be available on the site soon, as well as at participating shops, businesses and schools.
