Stone Town Band are going for glory at the Festival of Brass on October 3rd

Good luck to Stone Town Band, who are competing at Bolsover’s Festival of Brass competition on Sunday 3rd October.

The competition is taking place at Pinxton Village Hall in Pinxton, Derbyshire, where an amazing 44 bands will compete from Championship to unregistered sections. It will be Stone Town Band’s first ‘entertainments contest’ in around 15 years and the players are looking forward to building on their success at Whit marches earlier this year.

The Festival of Brass competition consists of a 15 or 20-minute programme that is judged by an adjudicator, who awards points for each band’s performance.

Stone Town Band chairman David Chapman said: “This event is a great opportunity for the band to show the progress that has been made over the last 12 months. More importantly for the players involved, they have once again placed Stone back on the brass band entertainments circuit.”
