The popular town centre ale trail will once again run at pubs around Stone as part of the 2023 Stone Food & Drink Festival line-up.
The trail starts from Friday the 7th, through to Sunday the 16th of July, and sees beer lovers pick up a card in one of nine town centre real ale pubs. The challenge is to enjoy a drink at least seven of the pubs during the trail week. For every pint or half ordered at the participating venues, trail-goers will receive a stamp.
Completed cards can then be handed in for the chance to win a weekend on a narrow boat for up to 8 people, kindly donated by Stone’s very own Canal Cruising Co.
Participating pubs include:
- The Borehole
- The Bridge
- The Crown & Anchor
- The Crown Wharf
- The Poste of Stone
- The Red Lion
- The Royal Exchange
- The Swan
- The Wren
Stone Food and Drink Festival Chairman, Richard Stevens, says:
“The aim of the festival remains to support Stone and its businesses – and while the festival itself is located outside the town centre this year due to reasons beyond our control, the town centre Ale Trail is one of the ways we are supporting local pubs and bars. I urge everyone to get involved and support their local pubs – we’ve got a fantastic prize lined up, generously donated by Canal Cruising Co – so there couldn’t be a better excuse to pop into seven pubs in a week!”
In addition to Ale Trail, other town centre events happening during the festival week include the Festival Edition High Street Market on Saturday 15th July – which will see a host of food, drink, craft and gift stalls in the town centre, while local businesses are also getting in on the act with a range of events, special offers and festival week deals. All details can be found in the programme section of the festival website – www.stonfooddrink.org.uk
The 2023 Stone Food & Drink Festival will take place on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th July, this year at Kibblestone Scout Camp (1 mile north of the town centre) due to development work at Westbridge Park. Free, regular shuttle buses from town centre bus stops to Kibblestone will run all weekend, plus there is the option of on-site or Park & Ride parking.
