Stone van owners should ensure that their vans are secure and valuables removed after a spate of thefts from vans in the surrounding area.
Yesterday morning, Tuesday 1st March 2022, Staffordshire Police received numerous reports of vans being broken into over the previous night.
Incidents have been recorded in Weston, Hixon, Salt, Little Haywood and Eccleshal – often these teams work through an area before moving on.
In several of the incidents, the entry has been gained to the vehicles by forcing the lock and power tools and equipment have been stolen.
Staffordshire Police have issued the following advice:
“Please ensure, if possible, any items of value are removed from vehicles and vehicles are parked in a well-lit area. If possible park your vehicle close to a building so access to the doors is restricted.
If you have seen or heard anything suspicious overnight ( possibly between 01:00HRS -03:00HRS) or have any CCTV that may be evidential , please contact 101 and quote incident ref 0193/01 MARCH.”
