FILL YOUR BOOTS AT THE FARMERS’ MARKET!
Pinch, punch, it’s the first Saturday of the month, so it’s Stone farmers’ market time. Head to the High Street early to get the pick of the goodies that are always on offer. Traders start a-trading from 8.30ish. Just make sure you leave us some of those lovely Scotch eggs, right?

NEW MENU LAUNCHES AT THE STAR
After taking over the pub late last year, Becky and Dom – the new owners at The Star – launch their brand new menu on Friday 1st April. They’ve spent the last few months giving the historic pub a fresh new look and working to get it at the heart of the community again. Particularly great on the menu look to be the burgers, sourced locally from Lee Walker Family Butcher. There are lots to choose from and, if none take your fancy, you can design your own!

YOUNG MUSICIANS IN THE SPOTLIGHT
It’s the monthly Young Musicians’ Showcase at Costa in the High Street on Sunday from 4pm to 6pm. Organised by Tony Hollinshead and Ben Owen, it’s a regular opportunity for young people in the town to perform, with some amazing talent each month. If you like your music (and your coffee and cake) then it’s well worth a look.

COFFEE AND CAKE WITH STONE COMMUNITY HUB
On the first Saturday of the month, to tie in with the farmers’ market, Stone Community Hub hold a coffee morning at their Frank Jordan base in Lichfield Street (10.30am to 1pm). As well as tea, coffee and some particularly splendid cakes, there’s craft activities for children and other lovely stuff going on. Not to mention the chance to meet the fab people behind the Hub and find out more about the wonderful work they’re doing in our community.

FRIDAY 1ST APRIL
Rock show band Hollywood Nites are playing live at the Red Lion on the High Street from 8.30pm – admisson free
Party covers band Redlight, meanwhile, will be at Granvilles from 9.30pm
SATURDAY 2ND APRIL
Valle Bullitt are playing at The Swan, while party band JC and the Two Steps (pictured above) are at Granvilles

GAMERS KEEP A-GAMING!
If you’re into Dungeons & Dragons and other roleplaying and tabletop games like it, you should definitely head for the Crown Hotel on Sunday evening for the Staffordshire Wargaming Guild night, from 6pm till late. The group is making a real name for itself and is holding a gaming festival in the town this summer – the wonderfully named Stone Geek Festival! Group members will also be in the Crown Hotel on Saturday during the farmers’ market if you want to find out more.

GRAB SOME BARGAINS!
Having a clearout or want to get a bargain? Head for Walton Community Centre on Sunday morning from 8.30am till noon for their latest car boot and tabletop sale. Tables cost £5, with all proceeds going to the community centre.
