Adapted for the stage by Marvin Hamlisch and Edward Kleban, ‘A Chorus Line’ centres on the lives of 17  hopeful dancers as they audition for a Broadway musical of the same name; offering a glimpse into the highs and lows of life as a ‘wannabe’ Broadway performer. Such has been the success and popularity of ‘A Chorus Line’ since its first season in 1975, it has gone on to be performed in theatres all over the world, including a recent run at the West End in London.

Studio director Laura Keeling says: “As a not-for-profit group, it is great to see the impact that Stone Youth Theatre has had on the local community in terms of getting young people involved in the performing arts. It’s a great opportunity for aspiring young actors looking to gain experience and bolster their CV.

All the roles for ‘A Chorus Line’ were auditioned for and drew members from schools, colleges and other drama groups in and around Stafford and Stoke, as well as students from our very own LAMDA drama and PSSA groups. Such was the vast number of talented youngsters eager to be involved in the production that we have been able to form two casts that will each perform each during the performances of the run, meaning that everyone will get a crack at a main role.”
