Stone’s Christmas lights will be switched on in the High Street on Thursday 19th November, with a star from this year’s The Voice singing live.

Singer Jake Shakeshaft from Clayton, who appeared on BBC1’s The Voice earlier this year, will be performing, as will last year’s Stone’s Got Talent winner Rachel Meddings. Jake – who was in Will.i.am’s team on the BBC talent show – just missed out on a place in the live finals.

As well as Jake and Rachel, the Stone Combined School Choir will be performing again, and there will be fairground rides, sideshows and food stands.

The event will be compered by Windmill Radio.

The night gets going at 5.30pm, with the lights – which are being provided by a new company this year – set to be switched on at 7pm.
