As part of the Annual Stone Festival taking place between the dates of 3rd June to 11th June, applications are now open for Carnival Saturday’s – Stone’s Got Talent Competition! Young or old, all are welcome to come down to the Market Square this June to wow the public and the judges!
If you’ve ever dreamt of performing on stage and showcasing your talent, Stone’s Got Talent is the perfect opportunity for you! As part of the 2023 Stone Festival, the team has organised this exciting competition, and it’s open to all ages and abilities. No matter what your talent, provided it’s family-friendly! they want you to show off what you’ve got!
Stone’s Got Talent will take place on Saturday, the 10th of June, from 1pm to 4pm, slap bang in the middle of Stone. This year a walking carnival parade will begin at Station Road and end in the Market Square, where the High Street will also be host to Carnival Games and Concession Stalls. The Stone’s Got Talent event promises to be a fun-filled afternoon of entertainment as performers take to the floor to compete for the grand prize of cash and a trophy.
Yours truly (Jon Cook) will be joining the judging panel to witness the brilliant variety of talent that Stone has within it.
If you’re wondering what kind of acts are welcome, think of some of the most memorable performances from popular talent shows like Britain’s Got Talent or America’s Got Talent. From daring acrobatics to hilarious comedy routines, we welcome acts of all kinds. If you haven’t currently got a talent, then why not start something now? Here are a few ideas:
- Singing
- Stand-up comedy
- Magic tricks
- Poetry or spoken word performance
- Dancing
- Instrumental performance
- Impersonation or character acting
- Juggling or acrobatics
- Live painting or drawing
A limited number of places will be available, so get your applications in early to secure your place!
To enter the competition, all you need to do is complete an application form and send it back! There will be a £5 entry fee per act if your application is successful. Application forms can be obtained by emailing concessions@stonefestival.co.uk. Don’t worry if you’re feeling nervous – this is a friendly competition, and acts of all levels are welcome.
