Studio B School of Dance has spent the summer undergoing a major expansion and renovation, creating a bigger, brighter and more versatile home for dance and fitness in the town. The new facilities will be ready to welcome students and families for the start of term in September.
Expanding the studio
The large-scale renovation will give dancers and fitness enthusiasts a modern, welcoming home with improved space and facilities. The refreshed studios are designed to support the school’s growing programme and community.
Youth company launch
September will also mark the launch of the Studio B Youth Company, a new programme for ages 4 to 18. Bringing together singing, acting and dance, it will give young performers the chance to train across disciplines, build confidence on stage and work towards regular performances.
Training the next generation of teachers
Studio B is also investing in its future by introducing formal teacher training programmes. These will guide young dancers and adults through safe teaching practice, syllabus knowledge and leadership skills. There are clear progression routes, starting from assisting in classes through to recognised teaching qualifications.
Children’s dance classes
Alongside these new developments, the school continues to offer a wide range of classes for children. These include:

- Tap
- Modern
- Street
- Acro
- Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT)
Students benefit from highly qualified teachers, structured progression through grades, and regular performance opportunities throughout the year.
Bumble Bees pre-school programme
Studio B’s pre-school programme, Bumble Bees, remains a favourite with local families. Designed for children aged 12 months to 4 years, these bespoke sessions introduce little ones to creative movement, music and play in a nurturing environment.
Fitness and wellbeing for adults
The timetable also caters for adults through Studio B Barre Fit. Sessions include barre, yoga and Zumba, offering a friendly and social way to improve strength, flexibility and confidence.
Open day in September
To celebrate the expansion and new programme, Studio B will hold an Open Day on Saturday, 6th September from 10am to 12pm. Families and community members are invited to come along, explore the new studios, meet the team, and find out more about what’s on offer.
