Wannabe Sandies, Dannies and Rizzos had better shape up and get along to auditions for Stone’s Pop School and Stage Academy’s performance of Grease.
Young people from eight to 18 who want to try out for a speaking or singing role should get in touch with PSSA in advance, and will be asked to prepare something straight-forward for the auditions, which are taking place throughout July and August at Rooftop Studios in the High Street Arcade. Email laura@pssa.co.uk or call 08000 827828.
Everyone is welcome, although a special call has gone out to T-Birds!
An eight-16 bar dance routine will be taught at the audition and applicants are also welcome to demonstrate other skills to give the panel a better idea of their personality – anything from telling a joke, baton-twirling, gymnastics or guitar playing. No experience is necessary and auditions are always informal and fun, ensuring no-one feels intimidated.
A series of rehearsals follow before the curtain goes up on Grease, the Musical at The Mitchell Arts Centre in Hanley in February 2014. The BAM agency will also be talent-spotting at the show, talent spotting for their agency. Children from the PSSA have already been cast in roles in Thriller in the West End and the film Leaves To Remain.
