People can take steps to improve their fitness this summer by joining in a series of health walks in Stone and around Stafford Borough.

Stafford Borough Council runs the Stafford WalkWise programme, which organises a number of weekly health walks throughout the borough for all abilities. The walks, led by trained volunteers, take place in Stone, Great Haywood, Little Haywood, Victoria Park, Hixon, Gnosall, Holmcroft, Milford, Derrington and Castlefields.

Regular walking has many benefits that includes weight control, keeping your heart healthy and reducing stress. It has added benefits in that you don’t need to join a gym or buy expensive clothing or equipment. You can do it on your own or with others anywhere, anytime and it’s always enjoyable to meet new people and be led by qualified instructors.”[/box]
