Teenager died as he walked to work

The 19-year-old who collapsed and died in the town on Saturday morning was a college student on his way to work at the Co-op supermarket on the High Street, The Sentinel has revealed.

Former Alleyne’s High School pupil Tim Perry had been walking the short distance from his home in Church Street when tragedy struck.

Police believe the 19-year-old collapsed in Morrisons car park on Saturday, between 7.15am and 8am. Paramedics were called to the scene, but Tim was pronounced dead at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire.

A post-mortem examination will take place tomorrow but a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said on Sunday that Tim had suffered a cardiac arrest.

  • So very sad at the young loss of life. My son went to Alleynes with him and has been very upset to hear this. Great sympathies to Tim’s parents.
