The Bridge Inn closes again as search begins for new operator

The Bridge Inn has closed its doors once more, with uncertainty hanging over the future of the pub.

A short message shared on the pub’s Facebook page earlier this week set out the situation in plain terms.

“Hello everyone, I’m disappointed to advise that the pub will be closed until further notice, following our contractor abandoning the pub earlier today. We are working hard to find a quality operator to take the pub forward.

The closure comes after yet another period of change behind the bar. Regulars will be familiar with how often new landlords have arrived, settled in for a short time, then moved on.

The pub has has a longstanding Thursday open mic night, a steady fixture that was incredibly well supported by artists and pub goers.

For now, the owners are searching for a new operator who can bring some continuity. No timeframe has been given, but performers who had been lined up for the remainder of the year have been asked to make contact while the situation is worked through.
