The Cakery comes to Stone!

Newcastle Under Lyme business The Cakery is expanding, and bringing their locally sourced coffee, freshly funky brownies & cakes, and brunch menu to Stone.

Mum & daughter team Harriet & Jackie Gallimore, from Barlaston, have been trading for three years, and will be taking over Beth Lauren’s premises, hoping to open mid September.

Harriet’s love for baking was the driving force behind the initial opening, having always worked in the food industry, and her passion convinced her mum Jackie to take the plunge with her after 10 years as working as a nurse.

After starting from scratch and looking for inspiration on youtube for recipes, the shop and it’s creations have built up quite a following on social media, currently sit on 4k followers on insta & Facebook!

Harriet says: Both Mum & I have always loved to come to Stone especially at night. I use to live in Stone and now we’re both from Barlaston, We both got approached by Beth Lauren regarding having her shop because she was moving, this was back In February! We thought long and hard and decided it was the right time to move from Newcastle and expand our business with a bigger premises. It was pretty small in Newcastle and felt Stone was more suited for us because Beth’s also had a cake studio and we needed to venture further out regarding the cake side!

The shop will be dog friendly, and serve their cakes and brunches which include oatcakes and creme egg brownies! Their Instagram and Facebook pages are currently featuring a competition to win coffee & cake for two once they open their doors in Stone.

Harriet added: “We feel we’ll be bringing a different feel to Stone, we’re a coffee house that primarily focuses on cakes too. We aren’t a tea room we have similar vibe to the Northern quarter in Manchester and it’s even better that we’re dog friendly! We love getting to know our customers and giving them a great experience.”

Follow The Cakery on Facebook and Instagram to see their updates and enter their competition.
