The Metal Masseuse bringing a symphony of aromatherapy and metal to Stone

Metal MasseuseWhat do you get when you combine a metalhead and a person with a passion for aromatherapy and handcrafted products? That’s right – The Metal Masseuse!

Get set for a unique collaboration that aims to redefine the traditional health and wellness landscape. Maeve McAnulty, the vibrant force behind The Metal Masseuse, is bringing her distinct blend of aromatherapy massage and bespoke, hand-crafted products to Carla’s new boutique.

From Stafford to Stone

Maeve McAnulty, better known as The Metal Masseuse, is not your typical health practitioner. Maeve has a background as rich and varied as the essential oils she blends! Maeve has combined her love for heavy metal music, a commitment to women’s health, and a passion for natural wellness to create a truly unique service. Operating for just under a year, Maeve has already made a significant impact in Stafford and is now ready to extend her reach with a dedicated space in Stone.

The Metal Masseuse was conceived out of a desire to create a welcoming space for everyone, regardless of their interests or backgrounds. Maeve’s approach is rooted in inclusivity, focusing on the underrepresented and under-researched areas of women’s health. Her treatments are tailored to individual needs, emphasising sleep, energy, pain, and stress management — the pillars of health that profoundly affect our daily lives when imbalanced.

Maeve told A Little Bit of Stone:

“I have tattoos, and I listen to heavy metal – not the usual aesthetic associated with the health & wellness industry. Just to be clear, these are not prerequisites for coming to see me!

The Metal Masseuse is for everyone, not just the headbangers. Although a neck massage after a gig is just the ticket!

Maeve’s offerings go beyond the standard massage. Following a thorough consultation, clients receive personalised treatment plans, including a unique blend of natural essential oils crafted for their specific needs. Sustainability is at the core of Maeve’s practice, from ingredient selection to packaging, ensuring an environmentally friendly approach to wellness.

The Perfect Fit with Carla’s Boutique

The partnership with Carla’s came through a mutual connection – Stone’s very much like that with its tight-knit business community. This collaboration is a testament to the supportive environment in Stone, where local businesses come together to support and elevate one another.

Speaking about the Stone business community, Maeve told us:

“The move into Carla seemed like the perfect fit. I’ve lived in Stone for a number of years now, and it’s going to be great to be able to tap into established business owners who are ready and willing to champion people like me who are just starting out.

I think Stone is brilliant for coming together and getting behind local businesses. I have already partnered with Danni at Deviant Ink, who has supported my work, and I’m looking forward to making new connections.”

Addressing Misconceptions and Celebrating the Benefits

Maeve is keen to address common misconceptions about aromatherapy and massage therapy, emphasising the complementary nature of her work with conventional medicine.

“A common misconception is that complementary or alternative therapists dismiss conventional medicine. This is not true! What we do is exactly what it says on the tin – we are here to complement an existing treatment plan if you have one from your doctor.

Metal Masseuse Massage OilsThis can be especially true at times such as perimenopause, for example, when sleep and stress can be particularly problematic. Aromatherapy can also be beneficial in supporting chronic pain, an area that can require support outside of, and in addition to, pharmaceutical pain relief.

We also don’t all use standard pre-blended massage oil; every oil, from the base carrier to the essential oils, is carefully chosen according to the information the client supplies during our consultation. This also depends on your personal preferences – whether you want an uplift in energy or a peaceful night’s sleep. And even down to if you just really love (or hate) Lavender!”
