The Sanctuary dance venue on Stone High Street is putting on its dancing shoes as it celebrates its first year in business.
At the start of 2023, we shared the news about something new coming to Stone – Strictly is coming to Stone with a new dance studio opening in Spring 2023 – and since opening, the business has gone from strength to strength.
During its first year, The Sanctuary has become a mecca for dance enthusiasts and firmly established itself as a key destination for Stone’s vibrant social scene. The High Street location offers an alternative to traditional cafes, pubs, and bars. With its spacious dance floor, The Sanctuary has it all a vibrant coffee shop, dance studio, bar, and venue.
The Sanctuary’s roots are in its thriving Ballroom and Latin Dance Academy, which has experienced amazing growth in the last 12 months. From the graceful waltz to the spirited rhythms of the salsa, The Sanctuary is a dancer’s delight!
The emergence of young dancers showcasing their talent on national stages, including the prestigious Blackpool Winter Gardens, shows what an asset The Sanctuary is to Stone.
It’s not all about the dance academy, though. The Sanctuary has emerged as a go-to venue for parties and themed nights. From family-friendly parties to Northern Soul and nostalgic nods to the ’80s with soul and disco nights.
Reflecting on the studio’s remarkable journey, founders Karen, Neil, Oli and Anastasia extend their thanks to the local community:
“Our first year has been nothing short of incredible, filled with fun, growth and dancing,” says Oli. “We extend our deepest thanks to everyone who has graced our dance floor, whether to dance or celebrate. Not forgetting those who have joined us for a coffee or propped up the bar!”
