Staffordshire Police have confirmed that whilst carrying out a targeted operation in Stone, Staffordshire Police officers came across a white van acting suspiciously around Oulton Road during the early hours of this morning.
Following a short pursuit, and with the help of the Dogs Support Unit, the vehicle was stopped on Lichfield Road in Stone at around 1.50am.
Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered syphoning equipment and containers of diesel in the back of the van.

A 19-year-old man from Stafford, a 29-year-old man from Hixon, and a 30-year-old man from Barlaston were all arrested on suspicion of theft and going equipped.
All three men remain in police custody and enquiries are on-going.
