On the afternoon of Sunday the 14th of August, Tilling Drive Allotments are opening their gates for anyone interested to see what goes on in Tilling Drive allotments. This is also the same day that they hold their annual Flower and Vegetable show for our plot holders.
The long-running allotment flower and vegetable show includes classes ranging from the longest runner bean to 2 onions with tops and roots. Whilst the flower show classes range from Cactus dahlia to a vase of mixed flowers.
The Directors of the Allotments told A Little Bit of Stone:
“There will be lots of flowers and vegetables to see so we would like to invite members of the public to come along to the allotments at the bottom of Tilling Drive from 1pm to 3pm.
It will be an opportunity for people to discover another hidden gem in Stone. If you are interested in understanding if an allotment plot is right for you or if you wish to take on a plot, then there will be people to talk to about what is involved and how to join our waiting list.
There may even be a few plants for sale if any have survived the recent hot spell.”
