Titanic sails into the town with new bod Cafe Bar in the centre of the High Street

bod stoneTitanic Brewery look to build on their bod Cafe Bar brand as they prepare to open bod Stone – in what used to be “The Lounge” on Stone High Street.

We caught up with the titanic team to find out more about what bod is and how it differs from their existing popular pub in the town, The Royal Exchange:

“The bod café bar concept is the brainchild of Titanic Brewery. We opened our first bod in Stafford nearly 4 years ago as a place to enjoy great beer, great food and great coffee. The bod café bar concept has allowed us to trade differently; opening in the morning for coffee and breakfast and staying opening into the evening to operate as a bar. We offer something for all age groups, it always amazes us to watch the variety of different people who use our bods and how they all seem to know each other, they are proper community meeting places.”

“The Royal Exchange is our fantastic pub located in Stone, with Michelle at the forefront. The Royal Exchange is a traditional pub with an open fire and real ale. Of course, there is a great range of Titanic and guest beers as well as home-cooked food twice a week with Pie Night on a Monday and Roast Dinners on a Sunday. The Royal Exchange has an incredibly loyal customer base who have been supporting Titanic and each other since we opened 14 years ago in 2008.”

In terms of the number of bods, the team went on to explain to A Little Bit of Stone:

“We have just opened our 5th bod in Matlock which has already become a very popular spot for locals and visitors to come for coffee or a pint. Stone will be the 6th bod to open and the contractors have already begun working in Stone to start the small renovation project. They will be onsite for around 4 weeks of work and if all goes to plan, we hope to open just before Easter 2022.

After Stone it’s on to Alsager but then we will be having a break from openings over the summer, but as we fall into Autumn we will be looking at opening bods on new build sites; some of which are in Lichfield and Nantwich.”

Whenever a new business rolls into town, we are always keen to hear about local employment opportunities; what jobs are you currently recruiting for?:

We love Stone; we’ve been running A Little Bit of Stone for almost 12 years now. The Titanic team told us why they chose Stone for their next bod:

“We love Stone, we always have which is why we opened the REX, it is a great town which looks after its people. The town events are always a highlight and well attended. Our new bod is right at the beating heart of the town and we hope we will enhance the community culture and feeling of togetherness. I can’t wait for the first Sunday I can have breakfast in bod, go for a walk on the Downs and then have lunch in the Exchange, happy days.”

We can’t wait to see another empty unit back in operation, bringing jobs and visitors into Stone. If you’d like to follow bod Stone, you can find them on Facebook.
