The candidate’s biographies should cover this set of questions:
- Tell our readers about yourself
- What’s your personal statement about why you’re standing and what you want to do over the next 4 years
- Do you live in Stone, if not what’s your link to Stone and your reason for standing as Stone candidate?
Tom has lived in Stone for 44 years, working initially in the potteries and then for the NHS until his retirement. He now divides his time between family, allotment, ukulele group and choir and enjoys walking and music.
He loves the mixture of town and countryside that Stone offers and its accessibility. He feels passionately that Stone residents deserve a great place to live, work, shop and enjoy themselves within their own community.
He has a particular interest in retaining library services. Tom sits on the Stone Independents Steering Group.
‘’I believe that local politicians should listen to what people say and should work to deliver what the local community needs rather than slavishly following national party lines.’’
What’s been your history as a political councillor?
New candidate, no previous history
What are the top 5 issues that you think affect the residents of Stone over the next 5 years?

How will you keep in touch with your constituent’s concerns?
We are highly contactable through phone, email and social media including our website and FB pages. We welcome being approached to listen to residents’ concerns. Serving councillors are active in working with local residents and residents groups.
