The entire RideStaffs 2016 cycling festival will take place in and around Shugborough

Staffordshire cycling fans are in for a great weekend of sport on their doorstep, with the 2016 RideStaffs festival taking place in Shugbourough Park from Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd July.

All the action of this year’s RideStaffs festival will take place in the estate’s idyllic grounds, marking a change from the Stafford town centre location of previous years.

[box type=”shadow” ]Festival organiser Paul Rowlands said: “It wasn’t possible to host the race in Stafford this year, but the move to Shugborough will be brilliant for spectators and competitors alike. Not only is there bags of space to relax and enjoy the weekend, but you’ll be able to get really close to the action of the Friday and Saturday evening pro races as the entire course will run within the bounds of Shugborough Park and Milford.

“We’ll also have big screens set up to show the Grand Depart and day two action of the Tour de France, and are in the process of running a crowdfunding scheme to get the two RideStaffs pro races streamed live to the big screen too. So spectators can relax and enjoy a whole weekend’s top sporting action, we’ve also got licensed bars and street food stands on site, offering ample refreshment.”[/box]
