
The world’s best cyclists will once again be passing through Stone in the prestigious Tour of Britain race.
The third, 100-mile stage of the gruelling 2011 race – on Tuesday 13th September – will start from Trentham Gardens. About 100 professional riders will head through Eccleshall, Stone, Uttoxeter, Ramshorn, Gunhill, Leek and Cheddleton before finishing in Hanley.
Amateur cyclists can also have a go at part of the route on 25th September as part of the The Prostate Cancer Charity Tour Ride.
The full route begins in Scotland on 11th September and ends in London on 18th September.
There are also stages in the North West, Wales, Devon, Somerset and Suffolk and Norfolk.
