Lymestone Brewery’s pub in Newcastle, Lymestone Vaults, was named Tourism Pub of the Year at the 2013 Enjoy Staffordshire awards on Monday 4th November.
The Stone brewery’s pub won a public vote to take gold, with Sandon’s The Dog and Doublet taking silver. The Lymestone Vaults opened in November 2012 – there are photos from the launch night HERE – and has proved to be a really popular boozer, selling the full Lymestone range, as well as real ciders, quality lagers and wine.
Brad from the brewery said: “A huge thank you to everyone who voted for us in the Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism Awards. We now go on the represent Staffordshire in the national competition.”
The awards ceremony was held at the Moat House Hotel in Acton Trussell.
Mark Kerrigan, Chair of Destination Staffordshire, said: “We have been looking into developing our own county wide tourism awards for some time now and we are pleased with the results and success of our first year. I would like to congratulate all those involved in the Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism Awards and those businesses who took part. All winners and runners up from today’s categories will now go through to the national Visit England Awards for Excellence 2014, where Staffordshire businesses will compete against other providers to put Staffordshire on the UK tourism stage.”
