Westbridge Park Jubilee “Big Lunch” to be the jewel in Stone Town Council’s Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Stone Town Council is taking part in the Jubilee “Big Lunch” by organising a party at the town’s Westbridge Park on Sunday 5th June 2022.
With the town council saying:
“Everyone is invited to this free to access family fun day to spend an enjoyable afternoon in celebration of the Queen’s reign. Bring your picnics to the park, together with tables, chairs and picnic blankets (but please leave your barbeques at home due to the fire risk). “
The party will start at 12:00pm and continue until 6:00pm with the main programme of events for the day being:
- 12:00pm – Florence Brass Band
- 12:30pm – The Quiet Men
- 1:30pm – Florence Brass Band
- 2:00pm – The Vanz
- 3:00pm – Scout and Guide Marching Band
- 3:30pm – The Cartoon Kings
- 4:30pm – Scout and Guide Marching Band
- 5:00pm – The Lack of Commitments
Food and drink stalls will be available for the purchase of refreshments and other activities such as free face painting for children are also being planned.
Councillor Jill Hood, Chairman of the Council’s Tourism and Town Promotion Sub-Committee said:
“Come to Westbridge Park on 5th June for the biggest party in town. With a full programme of music, a party atmosphere, and a range of refreshment stalls, it will be a fun afternoon for all the family.”

Other events taking place over the jubilee celebration period include:
- Thursday 2nd June – Town Crier Proclamation in the Market Square / Piper / Bugler / Song for the Commonwealth and lighting of the beacon at St. Michael and St. Wulfard’s Chruch.
- Saturday 4th June – Queen’s Jubilee town Thanks Giving Service at St. Michael’s, Jubilee Farmers Market and a Jubilee Bygone Days Exhibition
