Traditional Flower Co is open

The Traditional Flower Co has opened its doors in Stone

A great new shop selling locally-grown flowers, quirky vintage gifts and lots more has opened in Stone town centre.

Beautiful china and vintage cake stands inside

The Traditional Flower Co opened on Saturday 18th September in the lower bit of the High Street, just over the pedestrian crossing next to the Thai Lanna restaurant, and it’s s well worth a visit – for the beautiful aroma that greets you as you step inside if nothing else!

Owner Sam Ellson has been a regular at Stone farmers’ market for a while now and it’s great to see her taking on a building that had been empty for some time.

One of the quirky displays

All the flowers, herbs and roses are grown at Horse Chestnut Farm in Fradswell, just nine miles from Stone. But there’s so much more inside the beautifully quirky shop. There’s soap, vintage china cake stands and lots more, all imaginatively displayed using lovely furniture and vintage items like an old typewriter and set of scales.

Outside, this theme continues, with an old bicycle, baskets and stands displaying herbs and flowers.

It’s no surprise that many people thought an antique shop was about to open when the building was being transformed over the last few weeks!

The smell is simply amazing as you step through the doors

You can find out lots more at The Traditional Flower Co website here, or better still you could pop in and say hello! As an opening offer, if you spend £20 you get £5 off. The shop will be open all over the Food & Drink Festival weekend and look out for some great displays outside the shop, including old beach huts!
