Ten lucky youngsters who dream of a life in the spotlight will get the chance to hone their skills in a special workshop led by TV star Ian Kelsey in Stone on Saturday 24th November.
The workshop will take place at Stone’s Rooftop Studios, with just 10 places being made available to non-PSSA (Pop School & Stage Academy) members on a first-come, first-served basis. Those lucky enough to attend will benefit from Ian’s wealth of experience – currently starring in BBC1’s Doctors, the actor’s other credits include Dave Glover in Emmerdale, Blue Murder with Caroline Quentin, Casualty, Where the Heart Is, Down to Earth and The Bill.
His resume extends to musical theatre with roles as Danny in the touring musical production of Grease and as Billy Flynn in Chicago under his belt.
During the three-hour workshop, Ian will give students a glimpse into the life of a working actor and what it takes to win roles in a highly competitive industry, with practical sessions in television filming and camera work along with some interesting insights into behind-the-scenes camera trickery.
Elaine Bird, Rooftop Studios principal, said: “We’re lucky at PSSA to have such a great patron who’s willing to get involved and share his invaluable expertise with our students. We’re delighted to be in a position to offer 10 places to non-PSSA members but we anticipate it being over-subscribed, so act fast if you want to be one of the lucky ones!”
The workshop will take place at Rooftop Studios on Saturday 24th November from 11am to 2pm, with advance booking essential. The 10 open places are suitable for children betwen eight and 18 and will be £10 per child, allocated strictly on a first-come, first-served basis.
