UKIP leader Farage in Stone on 4th April

UKIP leader Nigel Farage will be pressing the flesh in Stone town centre on Thursday 4th April as part of a two-day tour of the West Midlands ahead of county council elections on 2nd May. Mr Farage will be in the town centre at 1pm before heading to Yarlet and Marston for a protest against HS2.

Here’s a press release issued by UKIP today in full…

UKIP Party Leader Nigel Farage is to join campaigners in Staffordshire to stage a protest against HS2.

Mr Farage has today announced that he will stop off in Yarlet and Marston village Staffs during his two-day visit to the West Midlands next week.

The Leader of the UK Independence Party will visit the region on April 3rd and 4th as part of a national tour of the country ahead of the County Council elections on May 2nd.

Nigel will first drop into Worcester on April 3rd at 7pm when he will hold a public meeting at the Worcester Guild Hall. Entry to the event is free and all are welcome.

The following day, Nigel, UKIP Party Leader Steve Crowther and West Midlands MEP Mike Nattrass will journey to Staffordshire.

That day they will get off the battle bus in Newcastle-Under-Lyme at 11am followed by Stone at 1pm. They will visit both Newcastle-Under-Lyme and Stone town centres to chat to local people about UKIP’s common sense policies.

They will then travel on to Marston village when Nigel and the UKIP team will join a protest against HS2 which will be attended by local residents, representatives of the All Staffordshire Action Groups Against HS2 (ASAGA-HS2) and Stop HS2.

After meeting at “The Greyhound” in Yarlet the Anti HS2 campaigners will stage their protest outside the home of Frank Peach whose property, situated in Marston Lane , lies directly in the path of HS2.

West Midlands MEP Mike Nattrass said: “The two-day tour of the region will give us the opportunity to meet many local people who feel bitterly let down by the tired old Lib/Lab/Con party which appears now to be a political amalgamation based on a single policy….”Let the EU rule.”

“I very much look forward to Nigel’s visit to the West Midlands . UKIP is the only party listening to the people and standing up for Britain by saying no to the EU inspired HS2.

“HS2 will cost billions of pounds at time when our economy is in deep trouble. It will destroy the countryside to save minutes off journey times between Birmingham and London .

“This is not about nimbyism. The whole project is deeply flawed. It will see previous jobs and skills travel out of the West Midlands and the North of England to London . The North-South divide will simply get wider.”

EU-inspired HS2? Who on earth came up with that load of nonsence? The present Government is the one and only culprit on this expensive and unnecessary project, NOT the EU.
