Stone’s Lizzie Neave goes for gold in the London 2012 canoe slalom on Thursday afternoon and here’s a great video interview with Lizzie from GB Canoeing.
The Stafford and Stone Canoe Club member talks about her childhood in Stone and how her dad Andy – a coach at the club – got her into the sport. She also talks of her disappointment at missing the 2008 Beijing Olympics through injury and how it drove her on to make the London 2012 Team GB team.
Lizzie stormed into Thursday’s semi-finals with the second best time of the qualifiers and (fingers very firmly crossed here) will be bringing home a medal (fingers still firmly crossed please).
