Stone Food & Drink Festival have organised a tour of Burton-on-Trent’s historic Marston’s Brewery.
Established in 1834, Marston’s Brewery has seen huge expansion over the decades and now brews a large number of the UK’s most popular, award-winning ales like Marston’s Pedigree, Banks’s Bitter, Banks’s Original, Mansfield Bitter, Hobgoblin and Ringwood Best.
The visit to the brewery’s historic Burton-on-Trent home will include a guided tour of the famous fully operational Victorian Brewhouse, which has been producing fine ales for over 150 years, the Burton Union System and Cooperage.
After learning all about the rich history of this famous brewery you can sample a selection of excellent beers before enjoying a delicious supper of Cumberland Sausages and Creamy Mash served with either mushy or garden peas and a rich onion gravy (vegetarian option available) at the visitor centre, along with two free pints of fine ale. Additional pints will be available at just £1.60.
Taking place on the evening of Wednesday 13th July and with tickets at £22 per person, the tour would make a great night out for any beer enthusiast – and a special treat for anyone celebrating a summer birthday. The price includes luxury return coach travel which will depart for Burton at 6pm from Crown Street and is set to return home at approximately 11pm.
This trip to Marston’s should also be the perfect warm-up for the real-ale delights in store at the Stone Food & Drink Festival, taking place from Friday 30th September to Sunday 2nd October.
