Stone Food and Drink Festival are holding a recruitment event at the July farmers’ market for people to find out more about volunteering at this October’s event.
Members of the festival team will be in Granvilles on Saturday 6th July between 10am and 3pm. Simply pop in for a coffee and an informal chat about the different ways to get involved – with no pressure to sign up on the day.
If you’re unable to attend on the day simply email info@stonefooddrink.org.uk with ‘I want to help!’ in the subject line and someone will be in touch.
The Community Interest Company that runs the food and drink festival relies entirely on volunteers to make the ‘big weekend’ happen and, with the festival continuing to grow every year, the hunt is on for more willing and able volunteers to join its enthusiastic band.
Chairman Richard Stevens said: “We are very aware of the fact that, without our army of willing volunteers, the festival simply could not continue, so once again thanks to each and every one who helped out – whether donning a hi-vis jacket as a steward or helping out behind the scenes – each and every one of you has played a vital role in the success of the event.
“This year we have even more planned, so it would be great to recruit more volunteers – there are opportunities to suit everyone, from helping with the set-up of the main site at Westbridge Park to driving a minibus on one of the Real Ale Trail evenings, to manning the festival gate or helping litter-pick the site throughout the ‘big weekend’. Whether you can just spare a few hours or are able to offer your services for the entire event, we’d be delighted to hear from you.”
