Volunteer groundstaff needed at Little Stoke Cricket Club

Little Stoke GroundstaffLittle Stoke Cricket Club is looking for some additional volunteer ground staff to help prepare the cricket pitch for games this coming summer season.  Could you or do you know anyone who has a few hours available each week and who might like to join their friendly team?  No experience is necessary.

Most of the work involves rolling and cutting the pitch using the club’s machinery.  At the end of the week, the pitch lines are also marked out.  New personnel will need to understand the procedures involved and get familiar with the machinery that is required to be used. Full training will therefore be given.  At the end of the sessions, the team also meet for refreshments.

The work is suited to anyone between the age of 18 and 80, and particularly to someone who is newly retired and fancies getting into the fresh air and working with like-minded people.  It is also a great way to give something to a local club.  Ideally, we are looking for a pool of volunteers (to add to the existing team) who can then be tasked accordingly, thus sharing the workload.
