I’m of the generation where a youth club was a big part of growing up.  Youth clubs were a great place to hang out with your friends, make new friends, play table tennis, eat sweets and generally have some independence from your parents.  Now that I have children of my own, I’d really love for them to have the same opportunities that I had.  So, following on from discussions with a number of local residents and parents like myself, I want to explore the possibility of setting up a youth club for 8-12 year olds in the Stonefield area of Stone.

I have already held preliminary discussions with potential venues and the next stage is to put a credible plan together that demonstrates to potential venues that we can run a safe youth club.

I run my own successful businesses and I am also a local councillor, so I’m very experienced in organising things.  However, I don’t have experience setting up anything like a youth club, so I’d really like to recruit a team of volunteers who can work together to create a credible plan for the youth club and then in the future, if we are successful in getting this project off the ground, help to run the youth club.

  • Planning.
  • Administration.
  • Youth Club Management.
  • Experience of risk assessments and safeguarding is beneficial.
  • Understanding or an interest in legislation.

Please note that this is a not-for-profit venture and is intended to provide a fun and safe space for children in the area.

If this sounds like something you could help to get off the ground, I’d really like to hear from you.
