Work has begun today (15th April) to flatten the eyesore blue gym on Westbridge Park.
Following the recent opening of the multi-million pound Stone Leisure Centre, the former gym has been scheduled to be flattened to create a car park for the leisure centre.
The former Westbridge Park Fitness Centre will make way for the building of a 75 space car park to serve the new leisure centre.
The new leisure centre has an all new gym, six-lane swimming pool as well as fitness studios.
The demolition work is expected to take around six weeks complete with a date for the new car park to be opened currently earmarked for late June. We will update once we’ve got confirmed details around the parking charges and opening date.
