What a shower! Burst water main in Walton

The burst water main in Tilling Drive this morning

This isn’t an impromptu fountain to cool everyone down in this lovely hot weather. It’s a burst water main in Tilling Drive, Walton, this morning. Thanks to Tanja Barwell for sharing the photo on Twitter today. The fountain of water was about 18 feet high – quite a sight for drivers passing by – thanks also to Tom Williams for this picture, also shared on Twitter this morning…

Angela Maynard said: “I saw it, I did a double-take because all I could see at Pirehill junction was a fountain reaching above the roof of the house! And a man walking his dog was getting a bit wet with the spraying mist … I didn’t laugh, honest!”

Jay Drew added: “I drove through it to clean my car!”

Over on Facebook, I think Kieron Hemming got a bit too close in his quest for a picture! Hope he wasn’t the dog walker that Angela’s talking about above! You can ‘like’ A Little Bit of Stone on Facebook here.
