Last year, the support from the Stone community was remarkable. Local co-ordinator Tracy Hall said it would be wonderful if residents could once again come together and raise even more towards the vital work of the Royal British Legion, which helps military veterans and their families across the country.

Collection boxes and poppy trays have now been placed in venues throughout Stone, making it easy for people to show their support. From cafés and shops to pubs and community spaces, businesses large and small are taking part in this year’s appeal.
“Every donation, however small, makes a difference,” said Tracy.
“It’s always humbling to see how generous people in Stone are. The Poppy Appeal means a lot to so many here, whether they have family who served or just want to help those who did.”
The Royal British Legion’s annual campaign runs through to Remembrance Sunday, with all funds supporting ex-servicemen and women, and their loved ones.
