As big supporters of the Stone Food and Drink Festival, we’ve been given a pair of weekend tickets to give away.
In addition to the tickets – worth £15 each – the winner will also enjoy a place on the ‘Fish Skills’ masterclass, worth £10, at 5 pm on Friday 5th. The master class is led by Stafford College Chef Lecturers Tom Harrison and Richard Finney and will see students guided through the process of filleting both a fresh flat and around fish. No need to bring your own fish along as UK Fish Sales Ltd are kindly supplying the main ingredient for the class, which will see students transform them into two delicious oven-ready dishes.
As well as honing their fish preparation skills, the lucky winner will enjoy all the ‘big weekend’ has to offer – browsing artisan food producers’ stalls in the Gourmet Marquee, enjoying free cookery demos with top local chefs on the hour, every hour and watching Talks & Tastings sessions on everything from making healthy smoothies and energy balls to creating great cocktails. They will also have the chance to enjoy great live music throughout the weekend, a real highlight for us, and they can bring the kids (accompanied under-16s go free) to take part in free kids’ cookery classes and circus skills workshops on Saturday and Sunday.
When things get a bit thirsty then it there’s plenty of places to grab something to drink – whether it be an ale from one of the great Staffordshire breweries in attendance, a glass of wine or a cocktail, a Barista-prepared coffee or even a traditional English afternoon tea in the pop-up tearoom.
