A woman has sadly passed away following a medical emergency at Stone Railway Station on the morning of 5th February 2025.

West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed they were called at 8:49 am, dispatching two ambulances, a paramedic officer, and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford. Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered a woman in critical condition, with bystanders already administering basic life support.
Despite the swift response and extensive efforts from both the public and medical professionals, advanced life support measures were not successful, and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident led to a significant emergency services presence in the area, with Station Approach temporarily blocked and the air ambulance landing in the field near The Church at the Crossing.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service told A Little Bit of Stone:
“We were called to a medical emergency at Stone Railway Station at 8:49 am. Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene. On arrival, we discovered one patient, a woman, who was in a critical condition and already receiving basic life support from bystanders. Ambulance staff quickly began administering advanced life support, but sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, it became apparent nothing could be done to save her, and she was confirmed dead at the scene.”
Our thoughts are with the woman’s family and friends at this difficult time.
